We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Accounting Manager to lead all aspects of statutory accounting operations across the North America region. This role involves overseeing accounting management, financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and the development of internal control policies. The selected candidate will guide accounting teams in both the U.S. and Canada while ensuring compliance with local and international standards. This individual will also manage external audits.
Oversee all accounting operations, including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger (GL), payroll, cost accounting, fixed assets, and revenue recognition.
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely preparation and publication of monthly and annual financial statements.
Manage and develop a remote accounting/finance team, providing training, support, and guidance to foster professional growth.
Coordinate regulatory reporting, ensuring compliance with federal and state/provincial requirements in both the U.S. and Canada.
Collaborate with external counsel and resident agents to incorporate entities across U.S. states and Canadian provinces; manage all routine and ad-hoc filings and registrations.
Lead external audits, including annual financial audits and 401(k) plan audits.
Liaise with external tax consultants for federal, state/provincial, and local income tax returns in both countries.
Conduct research on technical accounting issues to ensure compliance with tax regulations and government reporting requirements.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
Investigate company setups and nexus across regions and implement required changes to ensure compliance.
Collaborate with the Group’s finance team on consolidation, management reporting, and accounting policy development.
Participate in 401(k) fiduciary oversight and ensure compliance with benefit program accounting requirements.
Extensive experience in financial accounting, reporting, and tax compliance.
Strong critical thinking and agile problem-solving capabilities.
Proven leadership experience in developing high-performing teams.
Knowledge of IFRS standards, with a willingness to learn additional frameworks as needed.
Deep understanding of financial regulations and accounting policy frameworks.
Excellent organizational and people management abilities.
Effective communication skills for collaboration with senior leadership and external partners.
Ability to navigate and comply with cross-border regulatory environments.
Proficiency in accounting systems and financial tools.
Strong leadership presence with a mentorship mindset.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification (preferred).
10+ years of experience in accounting and finance, with a focus on corporate financial management.
Proven experience managing financial operations across multiple jurisdictions.
Strong track record in building and mentoring finance teams.
Proficiency in accounting software.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Availability to attend the office at least once per quarter.
