Overview

Nortal is seeking a Software Delivery Unit Manager to lead a world-class engineering team of 75+ experts that are responsible for designing and building different solutions for our customers in North America.

 

As a Delivery Unit Manager, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of multiple projects. You are obsessed with ensuring more optimal ways of working for the team, eliminating cross-country, cross-timezone, and cross-cultural barriers, and innovating on methodologies to ensure higher productivity. You have excellent people management and communication skills, alongside business acumen, technical and domain understanding of what is being delivered. 

 

You know precisely what it takes to train and onboard new managers and team leads. You are ultimately responsible for making your unit scalable and attractive to the talent market as well. You have extensive experience in establishing high-performance teams and delivery setups that are both optimised and tailored to meet the needs of small-scale engagements and Fortune 100 customers. You deeply care about team and customer satisfaction, and you also know how to sustain a company's profitability targets.

Responsibilities

• Being a single point of contact for your Delivery Unit both locally and globally (multi-country, at minimum LT, EE, RS)
• Being the leader of your Delivery Unit - make commitments, take ownership, build relations with stakeholders
• Managing the delivery of multiple projects
• Supporting, mentoring, and growing Team Leads, Tech Leads, and other managers
• Responsible for the motivation and satisfaction of the teams
• Building and maintaining a consistently successful distributed delivery model
• Participating in the sales process or other activities that are aimed at growing and improving the delivery center
• Constantly stay ahead of the curve
• Being  a sparring partner for business / sales (account managers, delivery directors)
• KPIs – eNPS, supporting profit margin, building the team efficiently (recruitment, team composition)

Qualifications

• A solid track record in the software delivery field is a must
• Proven experience in end-to-end delivery of complex solutions
• Practical working experience in building or applying situation-relevant delivery Agile methodologies (e.g Scrum, Kanban, SAF'e, DAD, etc.) for setting up high-performance delivery operations
• Cultural awareness experience working with global delivery teams across multiple locations (Europe, North America, South America).
• Communication clarity, timeliness, articulation is critical
• Experience in  Context-switching; giving proactive feedback and communication
• Experienced at shaping high-performing teams and managing people, including other leaders
• Good technical understanding and industry experience
• Experience with project financial & budget management (P&L, planning, forecasting, analysis, etc.) would be a plus
• Able to commit for flexible working hours – working days may take until 22.00.

 

Salary range: 5.500 - 7.500 € gross per month
