Overview

Are you a technically minded Solution Architect ready to shape digital transformation in the energy sector? Do you enjoy working with tough business problems and close collaboration with the customer and your fellow experts? Then we might have the right role for you!

Nortal is currently looking for a technically oriented Solution Architect to join our exciting projects in the energy sector. In this role, you will collaborate closely with both our customer and our internal development team, turning real business needs into smart, high value solutions built with modern technologies. You have the key role in ensuring the customer’s needs are correctly understood, translated and executed. You act as an enabler: keeping the big picture together, moving things forward, and ensuring the team builds the right solutions.

Responsibilities

What you will do

  • Engage in regular discussions with the client to understand their needs and translate them into actionable requirements.
  • Take high-level architectural directions and break them down into concrete guidance for the development team.
  • Produce documentation, technical diagrams, architectural notes, and decision records.
  • Work closely with developers to clarify technical implications even if you don’t write code yourself.
  • Keep the holistic view of a fast moving ecosystem with many integrations, data streams, and parallel initiatives.
  • Support and collaborate with your Nortal colleagues such as the development team, Project Manager, Product Owner and architect

In this role you don’t need to program hands-on, but a software engineering background is essential.

  • PostgreSQL, Firebase
  • Integrations (Frends)
  • Agile ways of working

Qualifications

What will help you to succeed

  • Ability to understand customer’s needs and ways of working enabling smooth collaboration
  • Solid technical understanding and ability to discuss architectural-level topics.
  • A background in software development (hands-on coding experience at some stage).
  • Ownership mindset and ability to drive initiatives forward.
  • Consultant-like approach: proactive, solution-oriented, comfortable in the client interface, willingness to ask questions.
  • Experience with retail systems or POS environments is an advantage but not mandatory—curiosity and the ability to understand complex transactional flows are more important.
  • Excellent communication skills in Finnish and English.
