We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our transformational projects in Industrial, Health and Public Sectors at Nortal Finland. You’ll be part of our growing Data & AI community, where you can spar with other experts, as well as share knowledge and ideas to grow together.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, and optimize cutting-edge data pipelines and modern platforms to drive impactful analytics and business intelligence solutions.
  • Re-engineer legacy data solutions and analytics environments, driving modernization efforts aligned with best practices and cloud-native technologies.
  • Tackle complex data engineering challenges with a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Demonstrate leadership by setting high standards in hands-on development, code quality, and technical excellence to inspire and guide the engineering team.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure data solutions meet both technical and strategic requirements.

Qualifications

  • Data modeling experience
  • Expertise in designing and orchestrating highly scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Experience on streaming pipelines and processing data in motion.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python
  • Experience in utilizing Data Lakehouse architecture and Data Warehousing
  • Fluent Finnish and English language skills

  • Experience on Microsoft Fabric or Databricks

Nortal’s offices are located in Helsinki, Turku, Oulu, Uusikaupunki, and Jyväskylä. This position can be worked from any of the previous, but we are flexible with remote work as well.
