Overview

Go for IT – and join our global mission!

Are you excited about shaping the future of IT security rather than just talking about it? Maybe you’ve already gained first hands-on experience in information security—or you’re eager to launch your career in this field after finishing your studies or vocational training.
If so, Nortal is the perfect place for you.

We support organizations across the public and private sectors on their journey toward a digital and secure future—strategically, holistically, and with a passionate, international team. Our work combines deep technical expertise with a genuine enthusiasm for technology and people.

If you’re curious, eager to learn, and ready to contribute to impactful security projects while growing alongside experienced colleagues, we’d love to meet you.

We’re looking for an IT Security Consultant/Security Engineer for full time.

What we offer – A great environment to grow

At Nortal, you’ll find the ideal setting to develop and advance your skills in an international, innovation-driven environment:

  • Flexible working arrangements with flextime, time-off compensation

  • A personalized onboarding experience with a dedicated buddy from day one

  • Learning Hives, funded trainings, and 6 annual Learning & Development Days

  • An open, transparent culture with flat hierarchies and real appreciation

In short: We offer a place where you truly matter—professionally and personally.

Responsibilities

Your mission

  • Support clients in designing and enhancing their Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), e.g., ISO 27001 or BSI IT-Grundschutz

  • Work with experienced colleagues to analyze existing security setups, identify vulnerabilities, and develop practical improvements

  • Help create security policies, concepts, and risk analyses while gaining hands-on experience with industry standards and best practices

  • Contribute to building Business Continuity Management Systems (BCMS) to strengthen clients’ resilience

  • Gradually take on more responsibility—from supporting project teams to independently managing smaller workstreams

  • Actively engage in team collaboration, knowledge exchange, mentoring, and continuous learning

Qualifications

What you bring

  • Education in IT or a STEM degree—or a comparable qualification

  • Initial exposure to IT security, information security standards, or IT risk management—through studies, internships, student work, or early professional experience

  • Curiosity and interest in topics like ISO 27001, BSI IT-Grundschutz, business continuity, or related areas

  • A proactive mindset, willingness to learn, and enjoyment of teamwork

  • Confident communication skills in both German and English, and a desire to grow personally and professionally
