Nortal Lithuania is at an inflexion point. We are not simply looking for someone to run an engineering organization— we are looking for a leader who will help us redefine it. This is a rare opportunity to lead the transformation of a 100+ person engineering team from a current software delivery model into an AI-first builder organization: one where engineers don't just write code, but design, orchestrate, and continuously improve intelligent systems.
As Head of Engineering, you will be the architect of this shift. You will set the technical vision, develop the people, shape the culture, and work shoulder-to-shoulder with delivery leadership, clients, and Nortal's global Engineering Head to make Lithuania a reference point for AI-augmented delivery excellence within the Nortal group.
Lead the shift from a traditional delivery model to one where AI is a core part of how engineers build, test, and ship. This is not a rebranding exercise — it requires changing real workflows, real habits, and real expectations. You will define what that transformation looks like and will bring the organization with you — not only locally, but as an active contributor to how Nortal delivers globally. The delivery center does not operate in isolation; it is an integral part of Nortal's business regions. The engineering standards, AI practices, and ways of working established here will both influence and be influenced by a broader global network.
You lead the Engineering Capability Leads, holding a high bar for leadership and proactively resolving issues before they escalate. You play an active role in hiring, deliberately selecting engineers who are genuinely curious about AI and motivated to work in new ways. Talent development is core to this role. You systematically grow capability, spotting potential early, and ensuring clear, credible career paths across the organisation.
Architecture decisions, code standards, engineering practices — these are yours. You make sure we deliver well and introduce the tools and habits that make AI a productivity multiplier rather than a distraction.
You will scope new engagements, review estimates, and represent our technical credibility to clients. When prospects ask hard questions about our approach, you lead the response.
Write. Speak. Engage. Lithuania’s tech community is tight-knit. We are looking for a Head of Engineering who is visible within it and who helps make Nortal a place where top engineers want to build their careers.
You have spent the better part of a decade leading engineering teams — and you have watched the ground shift beneath the profession in the last two years. You are not anxious about AI; you are energized by it. You understand that the engineers who thrive in the next decade will be those who know how to direct, evaluate, and improve AI systems — and you want to build an organization full of those engineers.
You are comfortable being the most senior technical voice in the room and equally comfortable sitting across from a client CEO and explaining why your team's approach will de-risk their investment. You lead with clarity and earn trust through consistency.
Most engineering leadership roles ask you to optimize an existing machine. This one asks you to redesign the machine itself — with AI at its center. You will have the backing of Nortal's global engineering leadership, a talented and motivated team already in place, and a real mandate to lead change rather than manage continuity.
Lithuania's tech community is small enough that great leadership gets noticed — and Nortal is big enough that what you build here will have group-wide impact.
We say that Nortal is a right-sized company – big enough to undertake and impact influential projects yet small enough to care for. At Nortal, your voice is heard, and everyone’s input matters. You solve critical problems for interesting customers from different domains. You work with experienced colleagues in a warm environment. You can execute your ideas in a reasonable time frame. And what you do and learn here is universally relevant and valuable. Last, but not least, Nortal is an agile company with low hierarchy – meaning heavy on common sense, light on rules, and substance is more important than titles! One more thing…This position can be both office-based and/or remote. The expectation is visible, engaged leadership — not permanent presence for its own sake.
