We're looking for a Chief Accountant to own accounting operations for our MEA region. You'll manage a team of 4 and be responsible for accounting across 7 legal entities — a scope that requires someone who stays sharp under pressure and isn't afraid to push back when it matters.
The role is based in Estonia. Remote and hybrid work are options within Estonia. Some travel may be required.
What you'll do
- Lead and support a team of 4 accountants in day-to-day accounting matters
- Oversee accounting across 7 legal entities, ensuring correctness and compliance at every level
- Take ownership of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Work with external tax advisors and the internal compliance team to meet regulatory requirements
- Manage the annual audit process
- Monitor cash flow, own financial reporting and handle bank communication
- Contribute to process development and the rollout of new IT systems
What you bring
Required:
- Experience as a Chief Accountant, Senior Accountant, or Team Lead in an international environment
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or an equivalent professional qualification
- Solid understanding of financial statements: balance sheet, P&L, cash flow
- Fluent English, written and spoken
- Able to work independently and lead a small team
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
- Resilient under pressure and comfortable managing competing deadlines across multiple entities
- Confident in challenging assumptions and holding your ground with stakeholders
Nice to have:
- Experience with MEA accounting and tax requirements
- Knowledge of IFRS
