Overview

Are you a subject-matter-oriented Solution Architect ready to shape digital transformation in complex environments? Do you enjoy tackling business challenges in an international settings and collaborating closely with customers and fellow experts? Then this role might be just right for you.

Nortal is currently looking for a Solution Architect to join impactful projects with our enterprise customers. In this role, you will collaborate closely with both our customers and internal development teams, focusing on understanding business needs through active stakeholder discussions and shaping them into high-value solution opportunities. You play a key role in engaging with stakeholders, gathering and refining requirements, demonstrating solutions, and proactively identifying how we can best support business goals.

Responsibilities

What you will do

  • Support customers in their digital transformation across areas such as data modelling and architecture, system integrations, platform modernization, and AI-driven solutions.
  • Engage in regular discussions with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable requirements.
  • Translate high-level architectural directions into concrete guidance for development teams.
  • Own and prioritize the backlog, ensuring alignment between business value and technical feasibility.
  • Produce documentation, technical diagrams, architectural notes, and decision records.
  • Work closely with developers to clarify technical implications, even if you don’t write code yourself.
  • Collaborate closely with Nortal colleagues, including development, project management, and data/architecture experts.

Our tech environment
In this role you don’t need to program hands-on, but a background in software engineering is essential. Technologies in use include Azure (Azure SQL, Functions, Data Lake, Container Apps etc.), MS Fabric, C#, React, and API management.

Qualifications

What will help you to succeed

  • Ability to understand business needs and ways of working, enabling smooth collaboration.
  • Solid technical understanding and ability to discuss architectural-level topics such as software and data architectures, integrations, and AI.
  • A background in software development (hands-on coding experience at some stage).
  • Ownership mindset and ability to drive initiatives forward.
  • Consultant-like approach: proactive, solution-oriented, comfortable in the client interface, willingness to ask questions.
  • Excellent communication skills in Finnish and English.

Salary range: 5200-7800€ / month (full-time). Final compensation will depend on factors such as relevant experience, role seniority, and skill set.
