Overview

We are looking for an Azure Solution Architect (FinOps) who will be responsible for designing and optimizing cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure, ensuring cost efficiency, scalability, and high performance. This role will drive cloud optimization initiatives and support modernization efforts across Azure-based platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver cost-optimized, scalable, secure, and resilient solutions on Microsoft Azure using IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services
  • Lead and support Azure infrastructure initiatives, including cloud migration, redesign, and modernization efforts
  • Identify and reduce technical debt, improving system performance and cost efficiency
  • Monitor platform performance and provide actionable recommendations for optimization and cost control (FinOps focus)
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders and service owners to align on architecture decisions and influence best practices
  • Implement and support event-driven architectures and data-driven solutions on Azure
  • Stay up to date with Azure technologies, tools, and industry best practices
  • Develop and maintain internal documentation, standards, and best practices
  • Apply structured architecture frameworks such as Azure Well-Architected Framework (WAF), TOGAF, and Microsoft CAF
  • Contribute domain expertise, preferably within data and analytics environments (ideally in mining or similar industries)

 

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • Proven experience in cloud architecture, cost optimization (FinOps), and application modernization
  • Experience with Azure integration services and data services
  • Solid understanding of cloud migration and infrastructure redesign
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures on Azure
  • Knowledge of structured architecture frameworks such as Azure Well-Architected Framework (WAF), TOGAF, and Microsoft CAF
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience in data and analytics, preferably within mining or a similar industry (nice to have)
