Overview

A senior data and AI expert who turns data into value: advising our key clients, shaping our offering, and helping grow the business.

Do you enjoy working with modern data & AI solutions? Are you equally at home acting as a trusted advisor to clients while driving sales and shaping the offering? If your answer is yes, then we are looking for you, Value Architect, to join our growing Data & AI Studio.

At Nortal, we build solutions and services that bring real value to users and society as a whole. In Finland, we have nearly 200 employees, and internationally we operate in over 20 countries. Our Data & AI Studio brings together strategy, engineering, and AI to help organizations turn data into real business value, from discovery to scalable, production-grade solutions.

As a Value Architect in our Data & AI Studio, you are a senior subject-matter expert working across two roughly equal dimensions of the role. One half is client-facing. You act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on where unified data and AI-first delivery turn cost into advantage, which investments return the most in time-to-value, quality, and decision speed, and which human-and-AI team should deliver them. The other half builds the offering and the pipeline. You shape what we sell, architect the sale, and support our teams to win, and you may take ownership of specific offerings of your own. One morning you frame the business case with a CDO. That afternoon you review a data architecture with the engineers who will build it.

The offering you will work with and shape
Everything we do runs on an AI-first approach: a spec-driven, agentic operating model where a small embedded team owns the product lifecycle end to end. The Nortal AI Kit sits underneath it, with skills, templates, workflows, and agents that turn business ideas and needs into AI-ready specifications, and those into enterprise-grade platforms, data products, and AI applications. This is not a separate service. It is how we deliver, and it runs through each of our core offerings:

  • Data & AI Platform Modernization: unified, governed data and AI foundations that make data AI-ready at scale, delivered for example as a Databricks or Microsoft Fabric lakehouse and an AI platform such as Microsoft AI Foundry or M365 Copilot.
  • Edge Platform Modernization: unified, cloud-native, edge architecture for real-time, sovereign data and AI across many sites from one control plane, compliant by design and delivered for example as Azure Arc-enabled Kubernetes at the edge.
  • Data, AI & Analytics use cases: data, AI, and analytics applied to business processes to create value. Built on the data and edge platforms, these use cases turn trusted, unified data into measurable outcomes: higher uptime and throughput, sharper demand and risk forecasting, lower energy use and cost, better customer targeting, and safer, more compliant operations.

You start with these, help evolve them, and shape new offerings as the market moves.

What you will do
The role has two roughly equal sides.

Advise our clients and protect the value

  • Be the trusted advisor. Work with senior client stakeholders (CDOs, heads of data, business owners) to connect their priorities to data and AI outcomes, and shape strategies and roadmaps they can act on.
  • Own the architecture. Influence architecture and design decisions so solutions scale and stay governed, secure, and compliant. You need not ship every pipeline yourself, but you can steer an AI-first approach and stand behind the design.
  • Stay through delivery. Don’t hand off after the sale. Stay hands-on enough to protect the architecture, data governance, quality, and the value case from proposal to production.

Build the offering and win the work

  • Support sales. Lead discovery and qualification (backlog size, handovers per request, time-to-delivery, platform readiness), handle the hard objections with evidence, and shape the proposal, including the solution approach, the work estimate (often AI-augmented), and the customer value case. Always close on a concrete next step, whether a workshop, a discovery project, or full-scale delivery.
  • Develop the offering. Turn engagements into reusable assets and named offerings, sharpen the land-and-expand packaging, and feed proof points, patterns, and prompts back into the offering.
  • Help us grow. Support growing the business, take ownership of selected offerings, mentor others, and help run AI-aware delivery teams, so growth is never bound by one person’s bandwidth.

What we hope you bring

  • A senior background in data and technology with business acumen (Data Architect, Principal Consultant, Head of Data or Analytics, Solution Lead, or similar), with ten or more years across both the customer and consulting sides.
  • A track record of winning new, high-value customers and engagements and growing existing accounts, with real ownership of business growth, not just delivery.
  • Consultative mindset. You lead with the customer’s problem, not with technology. You listen, frame the real question, and guide senior stakeholders to a decision they own. Enterprise architecture skills and experience are a strong asset here, connecting business strategy, operating model, data, and technology into one coherent picture.
  • AI-native ways of working. Fluent use of modern AI tools (such as Claude Cowork, Claude Design) and coding agents (such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor, Kiro). You work AI-first by habit, not by exception.
  • Platform familiarity. Comfortable with modern cloud and data stacks such as Databricks and Microsoft Fabric. Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Value-case construction. An instinct for where AI and unified data remove cost rather than shift it, and the ability to turn that into a case a CFO and a CDO both believe. A commercial mindset, and ownership of your pipeline.
  • Domain depth. Working knowledge of at least one industry we serve (manufacturing, energy, the public sector, retail, or similar) is a strong plus, and helps you speak the customer’s language from day one.
  • Communication. Strong spoken, written, and presentation skills in Finnish and English, with the ability to reach both technical teams and C-level stakeholders. German is an asset.

Why join us

  • Shape it, don’t inherit it. You help build and grow the offering alongside the Head of Data & AI, rather than maintaining one someone else froze in place. It is an evolving, entrepreneurial role with room to leave your mark.
  • Work at the AI-first frontier. Agentic, spec-driven data delivery and platform modernization applied to real enterprise problems, not perpetual pilots.
  • A community, not a silo. A network of architects from several disciplines and transformation consultants behind you, and delivery teams who can actually ship what you sell.
  • Sell from strength. Own your pipeline and your patterns, with the weight of a trusted partner to governments and Fortune 500 companies across Europe, the GCC, Latin America, and North America. Microsoft named us in its Industrial AI Partner Guide, one of a select group of integrators trusted to deliver industrial AI at scale.

Salary range: 7000-9000€ / month (full-time). Final compensation will depend on factors such as relevant experience, role seniority, and skill set.

Please note that we will begin reviewing applications in week 31.
