Overview

We are looking for a Senior Automation QA Engineer to join a cross-functional Agile team on a 6-month assignment and play a key role in delivering high-quality software throughout the entire software development lifecycle.

 

In this role, you will combine hands-on automation engineering with test analysis, quality advocacy, and continuous improvement practices. You will collaborate closely with developers, Product Owners, and stakeholders to ensure quality is embedded early in the development process, providing fast and effective feedback through automated and manual testing.

About the project
TUI, is a global business with over 70 000 people on board, great history and challenging plans for building a digital future. TUI is the largest leisure, travel and tourism company globally, and it owns travel agencies, hotels, airlines, cruise ships and retail shops.

 

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and test suites.
  • Create and execute automated and manual tests for functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and non-functional testing.
  • Analyze requirements and acceptance criteria to ensure they are testable, well-defined, and aligned with quality objectives.
  • Define test strategies, test cases, and automation coverage based on business requirements and risk assessments.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and rapid feedback.
  • Investigate, manage, and support defect resolution through collaboration with development teams and root cause analysis.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, providing quality-focused input throughout planning, refinement, delivery, and retrospectives.
  • Champion quality engineering best practices, shift-left testing, and continuous improvement initiatives across the team.

 

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in web and API test automation using tools such as Playwright, Axios, and Pact.
  • Strong programming skills in JavaScript, TypeScript, and/or Java.
  • Experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks using established design patterns and automation best practices.
  • Strong practical experience with functional, regression, exploratory, integration, and API testing in Agile delivery environments.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems, and automated test execution processes.
  • Experience testing web applications, APIs, and microservices-based architectures.
  • Ability to develop test strategies, assess testability, and analyze testing risks and quality outcomes.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills with a passion for quality, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.
