The role:
You will join the Business Operations team of our client, News UK, as a AI & Tooling Engineer.
This is a dual-function role within News UK’s Technology department that sits at the intersection of internal operations and cutting-edge AI. We are seeking a collaborative AI & Tooling Engineer who will act as both an administrator and enabler, fully owning, optimising, and managing the tools across the department and helping the team to leverage AI within their ways of working. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams (Product, BA, Design, Delivery, and Engineering) to oversee the software and tooling estate, as well as design and develop intelligent AI agents that automate and optimise the daily workflows.
While most of the tools are set up to be self-service, you will provide tooling administrative support and guidance for the Tech team when needed. Tooling administration for all core tools includes defining, auditing and managing user permissions, setting up workspace structures and user access for News UK’s teams.
As part of this role you will also be responsible for ensuring that the tooling stack is optimally run and integrated into modern AI enabled ways of working, to help teams increase their operational efficiency. Your mission is to bridge the gap between "working hard" and "working smart" by leveraging the latest in AI and AI agents to remove friction, kill "busy work," and enable our teams to focus on creating value.
