We are looking for an Accountant to join our Finance team in Serbia. You'll handle the day-to-day accounting work that keeps the business running: payments, invoices, reconciliations, and reporting. It's a full-time role based out of our Belgrade office, with the possibility to work remotely.
What you'll do
- Process and prepare supplier and other outgoing payments
- Post and reconcile bank statements in a timely and accurate manner
- Review, process, and maintain purchase invoices and related documentation
- Issue and maintain sales invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
- Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances
- Support VAT reporting and ensure compliance with local tax requirements
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
- Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding payment, invoicing, and accounting matters
- Support audits and other compliance-related activities as required
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency
What you bring
- 2+ years of experience in accounting
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Fluent in English and Serbian (written and spoken)
- Good understanding of financial statements (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow)
- Experience in VAT and other tax reporting
- Accurate, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with high transaction volumes
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Proactive, goal-oriented, with strong analytical and communication skills
- Openness to using AI tools to work more efficiently, within Nortal's data governance guidelines
Nice to have
- Experience with MS Axapta/Dynamics 365, Finbite/Omniva, and BI tools
- Understanding of IFRS
