Overview

At Nortal, we believe in thinking big - creating digital solutions with meaningful, far-reaching impact. With over 3,000 professionals across 26 locations, we’ve spent over two decades helping governments, enterprises, and healthcare institutions in Europe, North America and the Middle East build secure digital organizations, businesses and entire societies.

Our Group CTDO leads a wide agenda across technology, delivery, revenue enablement, talent and the way we run delivery around the world. We’re looking for a Chief of Staff to enable that organization work as one leadership team: turning a broad mandate into a short list of owned priorities, helping leaders make better decisions faster, and making sure commitments are seen through.

This is a hands-on operator role for a manager who can influence and structure messy problems, facilitate senior colleagues and close loops.

Responsibilities

  • Keep the CTDO strategy current through a rolling 12- to 24-month agenda, quarterly priorities and clear decision papers that separate facts, assumptions, options and risks.
  • Hold one view of all commitments and initiatives, each with an owner, measures, milestones and a next decision, and recommend stopping work that no longer justifies central attention.
  • Run a light leadership rhythm with decision-led agendas, pre-reads and one record of decisions, commitments and risks, and remove forums and reports that don’t change decisions.
  • Run the CTDO scorecard with Finance and People, covering margin, quality, strategic deal support, AI and automation adoption, capability maturity and talent health.
  • Track whether major initiatives deliver their intended benefits.
  • Facilitate the CTDO leadership team, offsites and cross-region sessions, and prepare GLT, Board and client material.
  • Build trusted working relationships with the CRO, CFO, CHRO and group functions.
  • Take on time-boxed cross-group problems, then hand the work to a lasting owner.
  • Run a small Office of the Group CTDO, including the planning calendar, budget and headcount inputs, and AI-assisted synthesis and tracking.

Qualifications

  • Management experience alongside senior leaders in a technology or professional services firm. Previous C-suite chief of staff experience is not required.
  • A track record of turning strategy into priorities, governance and sustained execution in a matrixed organization.
  • Experience running a portfolio that spans technology, delivery, commercial and people outcomes.
  • Credibility on modern engineering and AI-enabled delivery, with the ability to question technical issues without being the deepest specialist in the room.
  • Concise, evidence-led writing for executive and Board audiences.
  • Confidence reading financial and operational data and telling signal from noise.
  • The ability to influence more senior colleagues across countries and functions without line authority.
  • Discretion with confidential and commercially sensitive matters.
  • Sound judgment and candor
  • A degree or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to work European hours with flexibility for other regions, and to travel internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SFIA or another capability framework.
  • Experience with portfolio management, organizational change or benefits management in a group-wide setting.

Why Nortal

  • We live by our values: commit to delivering value and results, take ownership, empower yourself and others, and own your future and growth
  • A collaborative and agile work environment working with industry experts
  • Opportunities for professional development through training and mentorship
  • An international team with a people-oriented culture, work-life balance, and flexible work arrangements.
